Etsy fees for 3D print sellers in Canada

Most fee guides quote the US numbers. Canada's stack is different: payment processing is 3% + C$0.25 and Etsy adds a 0.50% regulatory operating fee. Here is the whole stack from Etsy's official Canada tables, applied to a real order.

A worked example: a C$25.00 print with C$5.00 shipping

Listing fee — $0.20 USD, convertedC$0.28
Transaction fee — 6.5% × C$30.00C$1.95
Payment processing — 3% × C$30.00 + C$0.25C$1.15
Regulatory operating fee — 0.50% × C$30.00C$0.15
Etsy's cut (11.8% of the order)C$3.53
You receiveC$26.47

If Offsite Ads attribute the sale, add 15% of the order (12% and mandatory once your shop passes $10k USD in a trailing year) — that turns C$3.53 into C$8.03.

Three Canada-specific things to know

The 6.5% applies to the tax-inclusive price. For non-US sellers Etsy charges its transaction fee on the price including VAT/GST, so the effective rate on your pre-tax price is a little higher than 6.5%.

VAT on the fees themselves. Unless you are VAT-registered and exempt, Etsy may charge VAT on its own fees — a further few percent of the fee amounts, not modeled above.

The listing fee is charged in USD. $0.20 per listing, per renewal (every 4 months and after each sale), converted at the day's rate — shown above at C$0.28.
