What to 3D print and sell in 2026: the margins, by niche
Fourteen product niches, each with real market price ranges, the computed true cost of a typical item, and the number farms optimize: profit per printer-hour. Every card opens in the free calculator with the scenario loaded, so you can swap in your own printer, region and rates.
How these numbers are computed
Costs run through the same engine as the calculator, at honest defaults: a $399 printer over 6,000 print-hours, $0.07/hour maintenance, US electricity ($0.18/kWh), 8% failure rate, $25/hour for your hands-on minutes, PLA at $20/kg, $1 packaging and $4.50 postage charged through to the buyer. Margins shown are on Etsy's US fee stack at the midpoint of the market price range. Batch niches (cookie cutters, keychains, fidgets) are priced as plates with setup time split across units. Grams and hours marked est are inferred from comparable prints — open the card in the calculator and drop in your own G-code for exact numbers.
Market ranges come from observed listings and 2026 seller guides (eufyMake, Insight Agent, 3D Printer Stuff); saturation and licensing notes from marketplace and community research, August 2026. A profitable niche you can't stand making things for is still a bad niche — treat this as a map, not an order.
